How to get Motivated to Work Out

Getting motivated to work out can be difficult at times. We have all been there where we’re torn if we should go for a quick workout or do pizza and Netflix instead.

Its typically easier to convince yourself out of going rather than sweating it out. So for that, I have put together a list of my top 5 tips on how I get myself motivated to workout.

{Here are 5 tips to get motivated to work out}

1. Make a plan. Like a REAL plan. Write down your goal,  when you will start, and how you will do it.  Make a 30 day calendar plan for what you will do for each time you workout.

For example: on Monday- upper body, Wednesday- leg day, Thursday- go to yoga, Sunday- incline walk…. etc.

2. Don’t over do it, but don’t make it too easy either. If you are completely out of shape start with walking 30 minutes a day, then adding hill or incline. Once it gets easy step it up and make it more challenging. If you go too hard right away, you may be too sore and not want to go back.

3. Find a friend or a dependable workout partner. It helps to keep each other accountable, and a way to work on your goals with someone else.

4.  Join a workout class. I know my personal favorite is my yoga class. Every week I look forward to going  and have time blocked Tuesdays 7:30- 8:30 specifically for this.   Find one you really like if be Zumba, Kickboxing, Barre etc. and make sure to stick to going.

5.  Get new workout gear that you love!  In the case of workout gear if you have a pair of leggings that are flattering or a pair of shoes you love it can kick start your motivation. I mean lets be honest, when you feel cute you feel more confident.  I also play games with myself that if I stick with my goals, I reward myself by buying more athletic gear. 

{Bonus tip} If you try a new gym, it can be intimidating with all the equipment and where everything is. Not knowing where certain things are can easily make you feel overwhelmed or self-conscious. I suggest the first few times you try a new gym go when it’s the least busy. In my experience, super early morning or weekend afternoons tend to have less people.

    6.Find a really cute regular at the gym. And tell yourself if you go he will be there…. 🏋🏽 Possibly even Doing squats!
